Our mission is to improve Kansas’ maternal and infant health outcomes by assuring quality perinatal care, using data-driven, evidence-based practice and quality improvement processes.

The value of our work
The Kansas Perinatal Quality Collaborative (KPQC) brings medical professionals and public health leaders together to improve maternal health outcomes and reduce maternal mortality in our state. Steered by a diverse executive committee of healthcare professionals, KPQC works in partnership with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), the Kansas Maternal Mortality Review Committee (Kansas MMRC), academic medical centers, hospital birth centers, community health centers, local health departments, and other organizations to identify and address concerns in quality of care for mothers and their babies.
Armed with data on pregnancy-associated and pregnancy-related deaths provided by the Kansas MMRC, KPQC mobilizes state networks to implement evidence-based and data-driven quality improvement initiatives. These initiatives aim to increase safety and improve the health and well-being of mothers and infants. From increasing access to prenatal care and education to strengthening comprehensive care coordination, we are committed to supporting mothers and their babies to improve health outcomes and quality of care.
